It had been a long time since breakfast, and it didn't feel like lunch was going to be ready any time soon when Bridgette saw Chris and Chef making their way into the woods. She didn't really think to stash snacks away for when this happened so she tried to think of her options. She couldn't ask Izzy because she might give her something explosive, and it would be a bit suspicious if she asked Serenity since they were on separate teams. Then a light when off in her head! With Chef out of the kitchen, she could quickly sneak in and grab a snack. She knew that Chef hated anyone in his kitchen, so she would have to be fast. And she would have to be inconspicuous. Especially if someone in the opposite team saw her. They would probably use that to blackmail her.
She slowly made her way from the cabins to the mess hall, looking around every single step she took. There were cameras everywhere, but it was people she was on the look out for, particularly Chef. She successfully made it inside and was happy to see no one was inside. She quickly dashed into the kitchen and looked for food. There was nothing that was visible, so she made her way toward the freezer. She looked behind her before entering and quickly rummaging through the containers, eating whatever she could hold down and storing some in her pockets for later. She didn't want to be too long or she'd be doomed.

Noah wasn't hungry, he was just annoyed. His stupid teammates didn't seem to understand the concept of being quiet, especially when another person in the room is trying to read. So he'd abandoned his attempts to read in the cabin for the silent solitude of the mess hall. Fortunately, Chef's culinary skills were good for one thing - scaring away anyone from the notion of 'seconds'. It was usually pretty quiet in the mess hall and Noah couldn't really blame anyone. The only reason anyone actually ate Chef's cooking - if you could even call it that - was because nobody on the island wanted to starve to death.
But apparently Chef's cooking and the axe that he carried with him at what seemed like all times was not enough to dissuade one presumably hungry blonde from sneaking into the mess hall. Obviously she was headed for the kitchen or she wouldn't look so guilty. Noah rolled his eyes and put his book down on the table, annoyed by the interruption. He might have ignored her, but for some reason he hadn't.
"Hungry?" Noah asked her, raising his eyebrows at the petite blonde.

Once the words escaped Bridgette's fellow teammate's mouth, she froze on the spot. She didn't really register who it was that spoke, but she was too frightened to turn around. She was like a deer in the head lights and she blinked promptly before swallowing the remainder of the snacks she had eaten. She had no idea what it was, and it wasn't delicious to anyone, but it was something. And with the lack of availability of food, it's what she had to do to survive. She was confident enough to be able to run away from Chef and not get caught.
She turned around slowly and let out the sigh that she had held in ever since Noah spoke. "Oh, Noah. It's you[/color]", she said as she returned to rummaging through the snacks. She was finally starting to feel less starving so she turned back around to give some sort of an explanation. She probably looked like vermon, scavenging through trash for a quick fix. "I was really hungry. Please don't tell Chef!", she said as she looked at him quizically not really knowing if he cared or not.

The deadpan teen raised an eyebrow at the blonde, giving her an impression that said he was not amused. "Nice to see you too." He quipped, his voice dripping with sarcasm, as he rolled his eyes in an exaggerated manner. He was hardly friendly with anyone on the island so far, and he wasn't about to make an exception for one pretty blonde. Not that he noticed that anyway. He was too busy reading and scheming and being the logical human being that he was to do something as whimsical as notice a pretty girl. Whether she was on his team or not, he really wasn't too bothered by her.
"I won't tell." Noah said, rolling his eyes again and picking up his book again, intent on trying to finish at least one more chapter. Unfortunately, Bridgette's foraging was far too distracting, and Noah found himself making an offer he didn't make lightly. Or often. One would hope he didn't have to make an offer such as that on a regular basis. "If you're that hungry that you have to go through the trash for something to eat, I could keep an eye out for Chef while you raid the kitchen, if you want." He shrugged and glanced down at his book for a moment, debating whether to put his bookmark in or leave it out and keep reading. "I mean, Chef's cooking probably isn't as tasty as what you'll find in the trash, but it doesn't hurt to try."
For once, he wasn't being sarcastic.

Bridgette was far too hungry ton acknowledge Noah's sarcasm but was slowly starting to fill up, making her more aware of what was going on and how Noah was feeling. She wiped the few crumbs that managed to escape her hungry mouth and ducked her head sheepishly. She really didn't mean to be so rude, and she was going to make sure she never got that hungry again. Even if it was to force down Chef's horrible food. Bridgette adjusted herself before looking out the window and making sure Chef wasn't nearby. She hadn't really become good friends with Noah, and he may well have been scheming and trying to get Bridgette caught in the act. But she was the kind of person who gave people a chance, even a second and a third. But she knew when to not trust someone, and this wasn't one of those situations.
Bridgette bugged her eyes when she didn't even realize she was eating the trash that was in the freezer. She must've been so hungry that she just assumed everything was food. Her stomach turned as she emptied the contents of her stomach back into the trash, the rest coming out of her pockets. She didn't mean to hurl in front of Noah, but that was pretty disgusting. She was still a little peckish and she knew she'd need to steal some for later so she nodded her head lightly and smiled. "Would you? Oh, Noah! That's so awesome of you!", she said as she pulled him into a tight embrace. She was a very friendly and affectionate person, so she wasn't shy about hugging people. She gave a quick smile and dashed back into the kitchen, keeping alert in case Chef decided to spontaneously pop around the corner and murder her. He was a scary guy.

Noah turned his nose up at the sight of Bridgette throwing up everything she'd just eaten right back into the trash can she'd been eating it from. It was not a pleasant sight, that was for sure, but he really couldn't blame her for puking. Although they'd only been there for a short while, Noah often wondered if the ingredients for the meals that Chef served were scraped out of the trash cans. It really wouldn't have surprised the bookworm.
In response to his offer to keep watch, Bridgette threw her arms around Noah, making the bookworm uncomfortably warm. He was very thankful for his dark complexion because it hid the heat that had risen to his face at such a gesture. Noah was more interested in books than actual human interaction, and even when he did interact with others, it was usually in a deadpan sarcastic tone that got on a lot of peoples' nerves. And as such, having a girl who was not a relative actually being close enough to hug him was a brand new experience for Noah. And as such, the bookworm's mind completely blanked and he wasn't sure how to respond.
WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I DO?! Noah's mind was screaming as Bridgette hugged him. Of course, it should be obvious - romance was a very common theme in literature! And yes, despite this, Noah still had not figured out how was the most appropriate way to react when, Bridgette pulled away from him and vanished into the kitchen.
Noah sighed and glanced around the empty mess hall, wondering if they could have chosen a worse place for the show. He doubted that Chef was going to walk in at any time, but then, perhaps he would. After all, they were on film every second of the day, so maybe Chef would burst through the front door to the mess hall and kill them both? He was almost starting to regret having made the offer.

Bridgette finally found some food that actually looked worthy of eating. It was a decent color and it didn't smell bad. She grabbed some and shoved it down her throat, sipping some water to take the bad taste from earlier away. She was finally starting to feel satisfied and her stomach seemed to have calmed down. She thought it best not to spend too much time in the kitchen, so she ate a little bit more of the food and put the rest back. She noticed a little bag with a wrapper hanging out in the corner of her eye. She walked over to it and saw it was full of candy! She was not one to be selfish so she stuffed them all into her pockets and made her way back into the mess hall.
She looked over at Noah who looked a little distressed, but she cast the thought aside and put a few bars of candy on the table. "You're welcome", she said as she elbowed him playfully and giggled. He didn't seem as bad as she first thought. Cody was right. She needed to get to know people before she judged them. Not that she completely judged them. She had an open mind for everything. She thought this time was just a good time as any to actually get to know him, especially since it was just them two. She sat beside him and pulled out a candy bar, slowly nibbling on it.
"So, Noah. What brought you here?", she asked then realizing how vague her question was and quickly correcting herself. "To Total Drama, I mean", she added as she smiled lightly at him. She didn't know whether he would accept her invitation for a conversation, but it was worth a try, right? Besides, they could potentially be allies. Bridgette wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but she knew how to compete. She had been in surfing competitions for years now.
